Subject: Winsock POP, Gopher Daemon ?
Has anyone heard of a POP3 server (commerical or shareware) that runs under
Winsock. I'd like to setup a POP server on the same machine that runs my ftp
daemon. BTW, has anyone seen a winsock gopher daemon- I've seen some WWW
servers but none for gopher.
E-mail or postings would be appreciated.
Thanks, Jim

I use the Trumpet Winsock and its dialer to connect to my Netcom SLIP account.
My login.cmd file looks like this:
output atz\13
input 10 OK\n
output atd [insert Netcom SLIP phone number]\13
input 30 CONNECT
wait 30 dsr
output \13
input 30 login:
output [insert login name]\13
input 30 :
output [insert password]\13

Yes.
Good luck,

What is the name or IP address of the *BETA* site (and the directory path)? --
I know that there are many sites which carry current copies of the Trumpet
newsreader.
I have tried tasman.cc.utas.edu.au (the distribution site -- where I obtained
the current copy I am using; in /pc/win31/netstuff/news/wtwsk10b.zip, 169550
bytes, Mar 8/94 release) and ftp.utas.edu.au, but have not located any other
beta versions...

Even simple Unix newsreaders like "rn" allow for string searching in articles
within a particular newsgroup. This is usually not an extremely slow process
-- I've searched newsgroups containing >1000 articles in less than a minute or
two.

What is the e-mail address to subscribe to the mailing list? Send mail
directly to Peter Tattam?
Thanks for your help,
